Spend a day at Lucayan National Park

If you’re looking for an introduction to the wildlife of the Bahamas, then this is the place to start!

Our favorite method for exploring the lush nature of Lucayan? A tour of the park in a 2-person kayak led by an expert tour guide!

You’ll learn about the six different ecosystems that make up the park, as well as the history of the pre-Colombian Lucayans as you coast through the mangrove marshes and pay a visit to Gold Rock Beach!

The Bahamas’s national bird is The Caribbean Flamingo. This archipelago is home to one of the largest populations of the bird; on Inagua Island, numbers reach over 50,000!

The flamingo is a precious species here, and arguably one of the best places to see them in their glory is at the Ardastra Gardens, Zoo and Conservation Center in Nassau.

No vacation is complete without trying some of the local cuisine! The best spot for this in The Bahamas is at Arawak Cay in Nassau, a pastel-hued hotspot for the most delicious Bahamian food!

At the top of our list is the Twin Brothers restaurant, offering a fresh seafood platter, and ‘world-famous’ daiquiris!

Our favorite food stand has to be Drifters, who serve up an awesome conch salad and stuffed grilled snapper. Delicious!
