For culture

Mayan history is a huge part of the social fabric of Mexico.

We highly recommend visiting The Mayan Village to experience the way of life of some of Mexico’s earliest residents. This exhibit will show you everything from societal structure to domestic architecture. For an immersive and more social Mayan experience this is a must.

For a show

The crescendo of a day at Xcaret is the Mexico Espectacular Show.

The show is held in the Gran Tlachco Theater. With a seating capacity of over 8000, the stage is certainly grand, and there’s a big performance to match! The 300 performers make for a spectacular experience, offering everything from fire hockey, to regional dancers, to comedians- there is something here for everyone!

What to take with you

Xcaret park is well stocked with everything that you’re likely to need, but to avoid some unnecessary expenditures, we recommend bringing a few items.

Sunscreen

Although there are plenty of shady areas at the park, many of the activities are in the sun, so we recommend some protection. If you’re looking to participate in the water-based activities, make sure it’s water resistant and biodegradable as well.

Towels

Not only are many of the activities on the water, you’re also right by the beach, so these are a must. The park does offer equipment rentals, including everything from snorkel gear, to lockers, to towels, but obviously bringing your own towels is an easy way to avoid the added expense at the park!

Lunch and snacks

If you’re spending a whole day or more at Xcaret park then it’s definitely beneficial to bring some packed food. There are plenty of places to eat at the park that cater for all tastes and we recommend experiencing some of the many restaurants on offer! However these are not all included in the price of entry, and bringing your own lunch or snacks is another easy way to cut down on expenses while visiting the park!

How long to spend at the park

The park is open from 8:30 am to 9:30 pm, and if you’ve only got one day available there’s so much things to do in Xcaret, that it’s worth aiming to commit as much of this time as you can. This is bound to be a jam-packed day, but trust us it’s worth it! If you’ve got a bit more time it’s definitely worth getting a multi-day pass. There’s so much to see at this amazing park that you won’t regret it.

A day at Xcaret park is an incredible experience for the whole family to enjoy on a vacation to Mexico. This beautiful place has something to offer every traveller coming to the Yucatan, and we can’t recommend it enough!
